Best NIGHT Ever!
Westminster Schools WINTER CONCERT January 27, 2010
For Parents
The Westminster Schools send home announcements and communication to parents in written form on Fridays. Many of the teachers include newsletters from their programs along with the all school announcements. Collectively, these have been known as the Friday Notes. We are in the midst of revising the frequency of the Friday Notes - only sending them out the on the first Friday of each month - and renaming them First Friday Notes. In 2009-10, we will be sending the notes electronically. We ask for emails on our registration and will send the "notes" electronically, unless requested to send a papercopy. Hopefully, this will reduce paper and printing - and still meet our commuication needs. We still encourage all teachers to send home frequent classroom or team
notes. We will check in with parents to see if we are still meeting needs - and of course we can always have special editions.
For Visitors
Westminster is in southeastern Vermont, the third largest town in Windham County, with 3,210 people (2000 Census) and about 420 students enrolled in school. The town schools have 210 students in K-6th grade in two schools. Westminster has no public 7-8 grades, so students attend local public and private schools, many of the students attend the Bellows Falls Middle School (the closest public school and part of WNESU) and Compass School, which is located on Route 5 in Westminster. Seventh and eighth graders also attend Putney Grammar School, Hilltop Montessori and Putney Central School.
